Sparsholt College will give you the help you need to complete and pass your course. This support will be based on your individual needs. In addition to the inits, or when this need arises if you are already at college.
There is an accessible IT drop in facility in the ICT centre. There is a published timetable
when this facility is staffed.
At both Sparsholt, and Andover campus’, we have a team of Learning Support Assistants who are able to support learners, acting as readers, note takers, and mentors on a oneto-one basis to enable learners to succeed.
Your Personal Tutor will make sure any personal exam concessions are discussed with the College Examinations Officer. An updating assessment must be in place prior to undertaking examinations. This is an awarding body requirement.
The support is granted after consultation with the Learning Support Manager. It is important we know your requirements as early as possible so the necessary arrangements can be made.
We may invite you to take part in an Additional Student Support Assessment to help us identify any additional support and/or resources needed to successfully complete the course. The Additional Student Support Assessments may include:

Sparsholt College is on a large hilly site in a rural location. Accessibility needs will be assessed as part of the Additional Support Needs Assessment (if applicable).
There are some practical areas of the College campus which are not accessible by vehicle, but are accessed via rough tracks or are accessed using paths with steep gradients. Access to some practical buildings may be difficult due to uneven floors. In these situations, the College will be pleased to provide help to allow access to these areas.
Andover College, entrance to buildings are DDA compliant, access to upper floors may be necessary for which lifts are provided. Keys to operate the lifts are obtained from the reception areas
Due to it’s specialised nature, Sparsholt College attracts learners from outside of the catchment area and is committed to allocating accommodation to learners to encourage independent living, irrespective of disability, race or gender. Prior to offer of accommodation a risk assessment will be carried out to ensure learner needs can be met.
The College has a small number of flats for use by mobility impaired learners.
