Training for the future

Facing redundancy is difficult for anyone, but there is support available to help develop your skills and access training to improve your chances of getting your next job.

Many people use redundancy as an opportunity to change careers, to do something they’ve always dreamed of, or turning hobbies into careers.

Supporting you

Each person is different, with different needs and aspirations. Our team will work with you on an individual basis, to plan  the training you need.

Funding is available

If you think that additional skills and training will help you find a new job, or you want to change direction, you may be eligible for the “Skills Support for Redundancy” programme. Funding is available for eligible candidates through the European Social Fund.

Applicants must be 19 or over and be resident in Hampshire and either:

• Under consultation or notice of redundancy
• Notified by your employer of likely downsizing, or company closure
• Unemployed within the last six months, and actively seeking work

Alternatively speak to your adviser at your next Job Centre Plus appointment and ask them to refer you directly to Sparsholt College.
