Courses Available: Game, Wildlife and Countryside Management

Sparsholt College is widely acknowledged as the home of traditional keeper training and our wildlife and countryside managers are also building a great reputation for their knowledge and expertise of habitat and rural resources management. In doing so, they all make use of:

  • College Home Farm, with its incorporated wildlife zones under the Countryside Stewardship scheme, and other developing habitat areas.
  • A wildlife observation unit with flight pond, constructed walkway and ancient woodland area.
  • Fishing lake, attractive to wildlife and wetland species.
  • Deer park with its resident herd of Sika deer.
  • Game rearing unit for pheasant and partridge.
  • 25-metre indoor rifle range, the field clay shoot and secure gun armoury.
  • College-run local shoot and experience on other local shoot days.
  • Great links with the industry across the whole country and abroad.
  • An OfSTED ‘Outstanding’ grade and Centre of Vocational Excellence award.
