While sports studies education may be found at most colleges, Sparsholt concentrates on what it does best - high quality training and the big outdoors.

With specialist Wessex Sports Academy options in some of the major team and individual sports, students have the chance to follow their performance goals, while courses to train instructors and managers of outdoor education and adventure activities attract students from many parts of the country. Little wonder, with so many hands-on activities on site:

• Sports playing fields, managed to a high standard.
• Wessex Sports Academy links with professional clubs, county sports organisations and local sports clubs.
• Two gymnasiums with top of the range fitness training equipment.
• Sports hall with climbing wall.
• Plenty of space around the campus, farm and surrounding countryside to practise on those mountain bikes - also kayaking on the lake!
• Some great local resources for adventure activities on the coast and in the New Forest National Park, with expedition and leadership training in Dartmoor National Park, Devon, and the Brecon Beacons National Park in south Wales.
