Student Life

Induction week

For new students - of any age - the first day or two can feel a bit strange. Don’t panic! It isn’t only you...everyone’s wondering where to find this or that and whether we’re all going to be friends!

During induction week, we make the assumption that you don’t know your way around or how we run things, so we spend the first few days showing you - taking the pressure off.

We really do try hard to help you settle in.

Social life

Sparsholt has so much to offer students who are keen to join in and make friends.

The Student Association organises a wide range of events throughout the year, giving all students the opportunity to have fun. There is something for everyone with the Freshers’ Disco, Christmas Ball, Rag week, Summer Ball and regular fund raising events, karaoke, quizzes and competitions.

There is also a range of evening activities avaliable on site including pool  competitions and treasure hunts. If you have an idea you can always raise with the wardening team who will be more than happy to help.

Students’ Council

Two student councils are recruited each year; one to represent the whole student community and one specific to residential students. The councils ensure that learners are involved in offering suggestions and planning activities to enrich the student experience as well as contributing to College reviewing policies and communications with students.

Student sports and recreational facilities

The College is fortunate in having a wide range of sporting facilities and opportunities which are available to all students.

These include almost six hectares of sports fields providing rugby and football as well as indoor facilities to play basketball and badminton. The College gym and newly improved fitness centre provide great opportunities for the fitness conscious.
