Get in and go far with an apprenticeship

An apprenticeship is a real job, with real training, meaning you can earn while you learn and gain a nationally recognised qualification.

As an apprentice you will work alongside experienced staff and gain job specific skills.

  • What's in it for me?

    • You will earn a real wage
    • Be trained in the skills employers want
    • Learn at a pace that suits you and be supported by a Sparsholt College Apprenticeship Liaison Officer
    • Be entitled to employee benefits of your employee’s organisations e.g. Holiday leave.
    • You will set yourself up for the future!

  • Benefits of an Apprenticeship

After finishing, the majority of apprentices (90%) stay in employment (including 2% self-employed), with seven in ten (71%) staying with the same employer:

    • A quarter of former apprentices had been promoted (23%) within 12 months of finishing
    • 89% of apprentices are satisfied with their apprenticeship; 85% of apprentices said their ability to do the job had improved, and 83% of apprentices said their career prospects had improved
    • On average, individuals with an advanced apprenticeship earn between £77,000 and £117,000 more over their lifetime than similar individuals with Level 2 qualifications

  • Who is eligible for an Apprenticeship?

Apprenticeships are available to anyone over the age of 16, living in England. There are different entry requirements depending on the sector and job.

  • Are there any exams involved?

All apprenticeships include elements of on the job and off the job training leading to industry recognised standards or qualifications. All apprenticeships also require an assessment at the end of the programme to assess your ability and competence in your job role.
