This ground-breaking project initiated by a group of Colleges and Universities in the Enterprise M3 area aims to transform access to vital work-focused training such as cyber security and digital skills across the region.

The group, including Sparsholt and Basingstoke FE Colleges and Royal Holloway University, working with colleagues from East Surrey College and Chichester University will develop an online platform to deliver blended vocational online learning to employees.

This ‘virtual campus’ will offer a skills-focused range of short programmes, giving individuals the opportunity to learn a new skill and become an expert in a specific field without the need to take a whole qualification at every level.

Instead, learners and employers can cherry pick relevant courses at varying levels and from a range of providers to gain fast, relevant and convenient training through a combination of online and face-to-face delivery.

This project will start with units in cyber security and digital skills and communications, recognising that this is the area of highest need in the EM3 area, and then develop offers in other areas of need, using intuitive, exciting and interesting materials to inspire learning. 12 new courses are being developed over the next two years that EM3 employers and employees can access free of charge from Spring 2020.
