What will I learn?

The mandatory specialist units are provide client consultation services, creatively cut hair using a combination of barbering techniques, design and create a range of facial hair shapes, provide shaving services. The optional section of this qualification allows you to choose specialist units you would like to study, depending upon your chosen career pathway as a barber and it includes perm and neutralise hair, fulfil salon reception duties, provide a variety of relaxing services, hair colour correction services, develop, enhance and evaluate your creative hairdressing skills, provide specialist hair and scalp treatments, contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of promotional activities, contribute to the financial effectiveness of the business, colour and lighten men’s hair and design and create patterns in hair.

Where will it lead me?

The purpose of this qualification is to develop your practical skills to a high level of occupational ability to enable you to perform your own salon services.

Please Note

Due to funding restrictions this course is not available to existing full time Sparsholt College/Andover College students aged 16, 17 or 18 (or 19-24 with an EHCP) on the 31/8 in the year they started their course.
