What will I learn?
Following the RHS Level 2 syllabus, this course will delivered one day per week for four months.
This theory course covers the following:
– Plant classification, structure, and function
– Plant nutrition and the root environment
– Maintaining plant health
– Understanding plant propagation
Each unit will be assessed by a separate written examination covering all learning outcomes specified in the unit. Examinations will be offered in February and June.
It is intended that students undertake the examinations for RHS in the academic year of registration, this allows for the best chance of success as exams are taken while the syllabus knowledge is fresh.
Where will it lead me?
Learners may progress onto other RHS Qualifications at Level 2 or 3.
There are no pre-requisites for this course just a passion for Horticulture and a desire to learn.
Please note that the RHS Qualifications are changing for September 2022 and therefore, this will be the last year learners can enrol on the old syllabus for RHS Level 2 Theory courses.
For anyone who requires the full RHS Level 2 Diploma this will be the last opportunity to undertake this course.
The new course (RHS Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Horticulture) will also be running in September 2022.
