The University of Winchester recommends WinTax taxis for students requiring an airport transfer, and Sparsholt College regularly uses this company. There are other taxi companies operating in Winchester.
TESCO is one of the ‘big four’ UK supermarkets, along with ASDA, Morrison’s, and Sainsbury’s. There is a small TESCO Express on Andover Road, and a much larger TESCO Extra at Winnall.
Tier 4 (General) student visa
If you are not ordinarily resident in a member state of the EEA/EU you may be classed as a visa national student and you will need to apply for a Tier 4 (General) student visa in order to study on a Further Education, Foundation Degree (FdSc), undergraduate degree (BSc), or postgraduate degree (MSc) in the UK. Full details of countries requiring a Tier 4 (General) student visa and exceptions can be found here.
If you are not ordinarily resident in a member state of the EEA/EU, and your country is not listed above, then you are classed as a non-visa national, and you will have to apply for a Tier 4 (General) student visa.
There is a very useful Home Office self-assessment page which you can use to find out what type of visa you need – check if you need a visa https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa.
You can contact the international office with any questions you may have about your Tier 4 visa.
Please note that the information given about visas and immigration in this online student handbook is as accurate as we can make it given that the Home Office is making frequent updates to its regulations. So for the latest information from the source, please visit the Home Office website page on Tier 4 (General) student visas.
If you are not an EEA/EU national you will require a Schengen Visa to travel to an EEA/EU country.
