Academic entry requirements

These entry requirements are for guidance only, please contact the International Office if you have any questions about the eligibility of your own qualifications.

If you are studying in an international school teaching A levels or IB please refer to our UK/EU entry qualifications. If you are studying in an international school under the US system, please consult our US entry requirements.

Level 3 Diploma

Senior High School 2 average of 80% and above; or Senior High School 3 average of 70% and above will normally be considered for entry to Level 3 Diploma courses.

FdSc foundation degree

Senior High School 3 average of 80% and above; or 80% in Gaokao university entrance examination will normally be considered for entry to FdSc Foundation Degree courses.

BSc(Hons) undergraduate degree

Satisfactory completion of the first year of a Bachelor degree course in a Chinese University.

MSc postgraduate degree

Satisfactory completion of a relevant four year degree course in a Chinese University with score of 70% or above will normally be considered for entry to an MSc course.

English language requirements

Please note that only Secure English Language Tests are valid for Tier 4 (General) student visas. The location of your nearest SELT provider is listed here.

Level 3 Diploma

IELTS (Academic) 5.5 overall, with a minimum 5.0 in any band; please see here for the list of approved English language tests.

FdSc foundation degree

IELTS (Academic) 6.0 overall, with a minimum 5.5 in any band; please see here for the list of approved English language tests.

BSc(Hons) undergraduate degree

IELTS (Academic) 6.0 overall, with a minimum 5.5 in any band; please see here for the list of approved English language tests.

MSc postgraduate degree

IELTS (Academic) 6.5 overall, with a minimum 6.0 in any band; please see here for the list of approved English language tests.
