Academic entry requirements

These entry requirements are for guidance only, please contact the International Office if you have any questions about the eligibility of your own qualifications.

Level 3 Diploma

Five Junior Certificate (Higher Level) subjects at grade C level or above, including English, Mathematics and Science.

FdSc foundation degree

Two Leaving Certificate subjects at grade H6/O2 or above, one of which should be a science subject.

The FdSc Veterinary Nursing Science course requires three Leaving Certificate (Higher Level) subjects at grade H1 or above, one of which should be a science subject; plus five Junior Certificate (Higher Level) subjects at grade C or above, including English, Mathematics and Science.

NFQ Level 5 Certificate in a relevant field at Pass; plus Junior Certificate Maths at grade C or above, Junior Certificate English at grade C or above and Junior Certificate Science at grade C or above OR Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths/English/Science

BSc(Hons) undergraduate degree

Three Leaving Certificate subjects at grade H6/O2 or above, one of which should be a science subject.

NFQ Level 5 Certificate in a relevant field at Merit; plus Junior Certificate Maths at grade C or above, Junior Certificate English at grade C or above and Junior Certificate Science at grade C or above OR Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths/English/Science

MSc postgraduate degree

Satisfactory completion of a relevant BA/BSc (Hons) or Irish Honours Bachelor undergraduate degree course in a relevant field may be appropriate for entry onto an MSc course.

English language requirements

Irish Junior Certificate (Higher Level) English at grade C or above is normally appropriate for all Sparsholt College courses.

Visa requirements

Students ordinarily resident in Ireland do not normally require a visa to study in the UK.
