Academic entry requirements

These entry requirements are for guidance only, please contact the International Office if you have any questions about the eligibility of your own qualifications.

If you are studying in an international school teaching A levels or IB please refer to our UK/EU entry qualifications.

if you are studying in an international school under the US system outside the USA, please refer to these entry qualifications.

Level 3 Diploma

Please contact the International Office to discuss your qualifications.

FdSc foundation degree

A High School Diploma with a GPA of 2.8 or above; plus Advanced Placement tests with grades of 3 or above in at least two subjects (including a science subject); or, ACT score of 26; or, Subject SATs with a minimum of 500 in each subject.

BSc(Hons) undergraduate degree

A High School Diploma with a GPA of 2.8 or above; plus Advanced Placement tests with grades of 3 or above in at least two subjects (including a science subject); or, ACT score of 26; or, Subject SATs with a minimum of 500 in each subject.

MSc postgraduate degree

A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject from a recognised institution with a GPA of 2.8 is appropriate for entry onto an MSc course.

English language requirements

Students whose first language is English are not normally required to demonstrate their language skills as these will be evident in your academic qualifications. However, if English is not your first language, the following requirements will apply:

Level 3 Diploma

IELTS (Academic) 5.5 overall, with a minimum 5.0 in any band; Pearson (PTE) 51; Cambridge English Scale Score 162-168 (FCE grade C; CAE level B2).

FdSc foundation degree

IELTS (Academic) 6.0 overall, with a minimum 5.5 in any band; Pearson (PTE) 56; Cambridge English Scale Score 169-175 (FCE grade B; CAE level B2).

BSc(Hons) undergraduate degree

IELTS (Academic) 6.0 overall, with a minimum 5.5 in any band; Pearson (PTE) 56; Cambridge English Scale Score 169-175 (FCE grade B; CAE level B2).

MSc postgraduate degree

IELTS (Academic) 6.5 overall, with a minimum 6.0 in any band; Pearson (PTE) 61; Cambridge English Scale Score 176-185 (FCE grade A; CAE level B2).

Visa requirements
