Salvia Collection

Lynsey Pink started collecting Salvia in 1999 while arranging a Salvia workshop for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight group of Plant Heritage with Jamie Compton lecturing. This opened her eyes to the vastness and diversity of the genus and from then on she was hooked on Salvia.

Lynsey has approximately 290 Salvia taxa and there are approximately 900 species worldwide. She is always trying to add to her Collection but does not intend to develop any other Collection. She has met many interesting people through having her National Plant Collection® from the UK and many from all around the world, which has resulted in Lynsey being welcomed to many countries to share her knowledge, but mainly to learn more.

She has been visited by enthusiasts from: France, Argentina, America, Japan, Holland, Australia and New Zealand. She has been to America and just recently came back from a tour of Bolivia looking at Salvia growing in their natural habitat. Lynsey was granted National Collection status in 2000.
