AT A GLANCE

An ecologist studies the relationships between living things and their environment to help to resolve potentially conflicting demands between economic development and the health of the environment. The Level 7 Ecologist Degree Apprenticeship is designed to provide an accessible work-based learning route as an alternative to a traditional degree model.

Landscape Ecologists work in a wide range of organisations including, Local Authorities or Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO), using ecological and other data to develop strategies and policies. A Consultant Ecologist or Ecological Scientist may work in a specialist ecological consultancy or for large organisations, such as civil engineering companies, proposing innovative ideas and solutions
