{"id":22032,"date":"2019-05-14T08:58:04","date_gmt":"2019-05-14T08:58:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sparsholt.ac.uk\/?p=22032"},"modified":"2019-12-17T13:20:23","modified_gmt":"2019-12-17T13:20:23","slug":"ucs-students-present-research-at-alltech-hartpury-equine-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sparsholt.ac.uk\/college\/news\/ucs-students-present-research-at-alltech-hartpury-equine-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"UCS students present research at Alltech Hartpury Equine Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recently a successful group of BSc (Hons) Equine Science, BSc (Hons) Equestrian Performance Management and BSc (Hons) Animal Management students, plus equine lecturing staff, enjoyed a trip to the Alltech Hartpury Equine Science Conference 2019 to present their final year dissertation projects to a large audience of interested equine enthusiasts, students and staff.<\/p>\n<p>After a very early start, we arrived at the conference in time to put all the students\u2019 posters on display and then listen to a range of speakers from industry experts and fellow equine undergraduates and post graduates. The day kicked off with an informative talk from Russell Mackechnie-Guire detailing his recent horse and rider research followed by talks from students.<\/p>\n<p>Poster sessions were interspersed throughout the day and the final keynote talk was from Dr Sebastian McBride covering some of his fascinating research on the neurophysiology and cognition of the horse. We all returned to University Centre Sparsholt tired but with our equestrian knowledge refreshed and with each student having achieved a peer reviewed conference presentation.<\/p>\n<p>A great effort from all the students and staff involved, well done!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Clarke, L.,<\/strong> Cameron, L.J. and O\u2019Brien, C.
