Elaine McIlory - An Man

Elaine McIlroy – BSc (Hons) Animal Management graduated and now works as an Animal Keeper at Paulton’s Park

Sparsholt has an outstanding reputation in the animal industry and it did not disappoint. The campus provides all necessary facilities for student life including lecture rooms, an animal centre, cafes, a shop, study centres, a library and laboratories. Even with all of this it didn’t stop us having several organised trips to zoos and museums each year!

The campus has great facilities for lectures and practical lessons, as well as for private and group study sessions. The Animal Management Centre was a key factor in my choosing UCS and for developing my practical animal keeping skills. All my lecturers worked in the animal industry prior to teaching, so their knowledge and advice were invaluable when pursuing my career.

It’s been a whirlwind as I started working as an animal keeper at Paultons Park a week after my exams finished. I am working hard to learn all I can to become a really good keeper and feel like I have found the job satisfaction I craved before joining Sparsholt. I think Sparsholt was the ideal place for me to jump back into education and I would recommend it to anybody!
