BSc Equine Science
I chose to come to University Centre Sparsholt because of the small class sizes and to widen my career path. The location is a stunning setting, with so many green, open spaces. I was looking at other universities too but as soon as I visited Sparsholt I knew it was the place I wanted to study. The class sizes are small, and the lecturers are so supportive, anything you need help with they are there.
We get to experience loads of amazing things – loads of dissections, loads of day trips, and it’s just overall an amazing place to be. We have a rider performance studio which really allows us to look at our riding in depth, our accommodation is amazing and there are loads of on-site facilities like the library and study centre. I’m a resident here and get to take part in lots of activities such as quizzes, karaoke, balls and parties.
There is also the opportunity to bring your own horse on DIY livery, which was really important to me when choosing a university. The facilities are great, we have a solarium, horse walker and all the arenas and the hacking is amazing – it’s just so good to have my horse here with me.
I’m hoping to stay here to complete my Master’s and then work in the nutrition side of the industry, which is something that really interests me. Being at University Centre Sparsholt has helped me grow in confidence and I’ve made so many new friends here, it’s really brought me out of my shell.
My advice is to give everything a go – the facilities here are amazing, everyone is so supportive and they’ll give you help with anything you need.
