Fisheries, Aquaculture and Marine lecturer, Dr Kerry Perkins was delighted to win the award for best live presentation at the recent BIAZA national aquarium conference. Kerry’s presentation ‘Finatastic beasts and how welfare defines them’ was voted the winner of this prestigious category over the weekend of online presentations by industry peers.
The Facebook conference hosted a different topic each day such with a mixture of live talks and recorded videos covering themes such as LSS/maintenance, COVID/site development, feed/training/vet, conservation/education/research and MISC/OAB/Trade.
Kerry said: “I was delighted to win the award for best live presentation at the National Aquarium conference and receive this fantastic trophy. It was great to see the event work so well online and the topics covered over the weekend by colleagues in the industry was fascinating. I’m very happy to have taken part and contributed with my work and look forward to the next annual conference this year!”
