Heidi North, BSc (Hons) Applied Animal Science student at University Centre Sparsholt has been announced as a winner of the annual ABWAK photography competition!
Heidi has always been passionate about wildlife photography, spending countless hours capturing the essence of animals in their natural habitats and is also a member of the UCS photography society. In 2024, Heidi submitted her favourite photographs to the Association of British and Irish Wild Animal Keepers (ABWAK) annual photography competition.
With national competition, Heidi was delighted to find out from ABWAK that her photograph had been selected for the prestigious front cover of the 2025 calendar, which has been distributed alongside the RATEL magazine to all ABWAK members.
This recognition not only honoured Heidi’s dedication to her craft but also inspired her to continue her journey in wildlife photography, capturing moments that connect people to the natural world.
Delighted with her win, Heidi said: “I am so happy that my photograph has been featured on the front cover of the ABWAK 2025 calendar. I can’t wait to capture more images throughout the year progressing my skills and entering more competitions this year.”
