When you share personal information with our ambassadors, they will try to maintain confidentiality. However, it may not always be possible for them to do this, particularly if you tell them that you or someone that you know, is at risk of serious harm (physical, emotional, sexual abuse, terrorist involvement, sexual exploitation, honour-based violence, FGM or domestic abuse).
They are required by law to share safeguarding concerns with our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). The DSL may need to share this information with third party (i.e. parents, children’s services or police). They will try to discuss with you their reason for doing this first but sometimes, in emergencies, it may not be possible to tell you before they act. They will always keep you informed of their actions and offer you support through Student Services.
