What will I learn?

This qualification is

  • For people who work in, or want to work in, the licensed retail sector
  • Is a prerequisite for anyone who wants to apply for a personal licence under the Licensing Act 2003 (England and Wales)

    The qualification will help develop learner’s understanding of the legislation requirements for licensed premises, the importance of promoting the licensing objectives and to confirm the ability to achieve a licence to practise.

    Where will it lead me?

    After completing this course, learners will be able to apply for a personal licence from the relevant local authority

    Entry Requirements Age

    Applicants must be 19+ on 31/8 in the academic year of the course start date in order to apply/enrol on the course.

    Due to funding restrictions this course is not available to existing full time Sparsholt College/Andover College students aged 16, 17 or 18 (or 19-24 with an EHCP) on the 31/8 in the year they started/start their course.
