We understand starting life at college is a big step – this year more than ever. So we’ve collected all the information you’ll need to help you feel prepared for joining us at Sparsholt College in September. We hope you find this information useful, but if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch – we’re here to help!
In line with the latest Government guidance, all students, staff, and college visitors will be expected to wear face coverings in communal areas whilst on site. This includes corridors, shops, toilets, catering outlets and the library (prior to sitting down). We are also requiring all students travelling to college to wear face coverings on college arranged transport.
They will not be required in classrooms, sports facilities, offices or outdoor spaces.
If you are exempt from wearing face coverings, this will be discussed and recorded on your arrival to college.
In the week of 20 August you will receive an email from the College giving you a link to a web page where you can record your GCSE grades. Please complete this as soon as possible after you receive confirmation of your grades, so that we are able to progress your enrolment. You will then be advised whether we can process your enrolment electronically (meaning you won’t need to come into college until term starts) or if we feel you would benefit from a face-to-face enrolment interview. All on campus interviews for new students will observe social distancing guidelines and be scheduled on an appointment basis in the week following GCSE results.
Please be reassured that any applicant who does not achieve the grades required to meet the conditions of their offer will have their application reviewed, taking into account the grades awarded, prior achievement and references from their teachers, before a final decision is made.
This year we’ll be enrolling you at college a little differently. In order to accommodate social distancing guidelines we plan to undertake as much of our enrolment activity as possible on a remote, electronic basis. This means that the majority of applicants will not need to attend college in person to enrol onto their course in August.
Where we feel it will be helpful for you to have a more detailed discussion with a tutor, to inform course choices, you will be invited for an appointment in college between Friday 21 and Friday 28 August 2020.
New term start dates for new and returning students are as follows:
