We’re so excited to welcome our new and retuning students to our countryside campus in the autumn term. Starting life at college is a big step, so we’ve collected all the information you’ll need to help you feel prepared for joining the Sparsholt College community in September. Dates for your diary

  • GCSE Results will be released on Thursday 22 August. Check out all the options for your next steps! From work based training, to university, to going straight into work. Explore which path is right for you at: https://nationalcareers.service.gov.uk/examresults You can speak to a professional careers adviser for free and impartial info and advice via the webchat, or call the National Careers Exam Results Helpline on 0800 100 900, open weekdays 8am to 8pm,  Sat 10am to 5pm.

    The College will access the majority of GCSE results from the Department for Education by Friday 23 August and auto enrol all applicants who meet their course entry requirements, and notify you by email and confirm in writing between Friday 23 August to Friday 30 August.

    If you have met the entry criteria of your chosen course, during enrolment week we will get you enrolled and send you an email and letter to confirm your enrolment. If we find your results are significantly better or not quite what you hoped for the course you have chosen, we will give you a call to discuss your options. Please do not worry, we will work with you to enable you to find the course that’s right for you. If you wish to discuss this further with our academic teams please contact them on the email address for departments under our Frequently Asked Questions section below.

    Please can we ask that you have your phone close to hand during enrolment week to enable us to check in with you.

    If you have already achieved your qualifications in a previous academic year, we will contact you directly to arrange your enrolment.

  • We’re looking forward to welcoming our new Residential Students to their term-time home on Monday September 2. This will be followed by a residential Induction on Wednesday September 4, where we will offer support, guidance and information whilst you settle into your accommodation.

  • College orientation for students starting a new course will take place on Wednesday September 4; once you have been enrolled you will receive written confirmation of which date your induction will take place.

    When you arrive on campus for your first day by 09.10am there will be lots of staff on hand to guide you to your induction and first lessons.

    Your Induction day will involve meeting your new classmates, your lecturers, and support teams and your Progress Coach. You will be introduced to and shown how to use the college systems and be given your timetable.

    Each course at Sparsholt requires certain clothing and PPE – make sure you’ve purchased the right clothing for your course! Find out more here.

  • If you have booked a campus bus pass the bus driver will know you’ll be travelling, and you’ll get your ID badge and pass for future journeys on your first day on campus.

    If you have booked a train or bus pass you will need to pay to travel on your first day, and your pass will be ready for collection when you arrive on campus

    • A. Our ‘Next Step Forms’ will be sent to all students offered a course place with us at the beginning of the Summer term. Links are sent via email to the email address you used on your course application.

    • Q. I’ve had an offer but I have not yet had my interview?
    • A. Not all students are required to have an interview, but our academic departments will be contact with all learners as soon as they can after an offer has been made. Please refer to your offer letter for more information.

Student Wellbeing

Sparsholt College’s highly experienced Student Wellbeing Team offer specialist advice and support for any obstacles life throws at you. Our team includes specialist wellbeing practitioners, counsellors, and nurses that are dedicated to listening and empowering you to resolve any challenges you might face. If you’re feeling worried, need some advice, or just need to talk, we’re here to help.

Sparsholt College officially launches its new Careers Hub

Study Plus

Our exciting new enrichment programme, Study Plus, is a fantastic opportunity to further your current interests or develop new ones through clubs, societies, social events and activities for both our residential and non-residential students. The programme will be split into four pathways; Explore+, Active+, Skills+, and Creative+ – so there is something for everyone to enjoy! Come find out more about our broad extra-curricular offer at our Freshers’ Fair event on the week commencing Monday September 20.

Industry Placements

If you are aged 16-19 years old and undertaking a Level 3 land-based vocational course at Sparsholt College, then you will undertake a compulsory industry placement as an integral part of your study programme with us.

Our Industry Placement team have put together a resource and guidance pack to help applicants and students source their own Industry Placements which can be viewed here. Please be sure to also complete our Profile Form send it to the Industry Placement team on ip@sparsholt.ac.uk
