The College has an unrivalled collection of animals and species in its purpose built Animal Management Centre and is one of the few colleges in the country with a Zoo Licence, which is why it is one of the most popular colleges for animal and zoo management studies. Courses run from entry level right up to degree and postgraduate level – meaning students can progress at their own pace but can reach degree level (validated by the University of Portsmouth).
Sparsholt has a renowned reputation as a national and international leader in the study of animal care and zoo management and is the only institution to offer the Professional Zoo Qualification Programme and the Diploma in the Management of Zoo and Aquarium Animals (DMZAA) – an internationally recognised distance learning programme working with zoos in India, the Middle East and China (appointed by BIAZA).
