Animal Care and Science T Level at a Glance

 

From 2023 the T Level in Agriculture, Environment and Animal Care will be available at Sparsholt College, with Specialist Pathways available in Agriculture, Land Management and Production. 

The T Level in Animal Care provides a unique opportunity to undertake a qualification that is supplemented by experiences within the industry. You will undertake core content such as Sustainability, Business, Communication, Health and Safety and Finance; all important theory that underpins knowledge and understanding of the wider Agricultural sector. Following this, occupational specialism units will allow you to specialise in Animal Care/Management or Animal Science. The Animal Management pathway focuses on the skills and knowledge needed for the practical Husbandry, Nutrition and Welfare of animals in a range of settings, including domestic pets, zoo animals, farm animals, wildlife centres and other collections.  The Animal Science pathway leads students into careers which are underpinned by Research Skills and scientific knowledge such as Animal Nutrition, Diseases and Welfare, Genetic Research and teaches Biological Principals to prepare for work or University level courses.
