T Levels

We are excited to introduce new T Levels into our wide variety of qualifications on offer at Sparsholt Campus. T Levels are a new, two year qualification developed in collaboration with employers to meet the needs of industry and prepare students for work.

NATIONALLY RECOGNISED

When you complete your T Level you will gain a nationally-recognised certificate which shows your overall grade. You will also receive an overview of the work you have completed during your T Level as evidence to help with future employment.

Sparsholt College Group has announced a multi-million-pound investment across both Sparsholt and Andover campuses in readiness for the delivery of new T Level qualifications. T Level qualifications will be delivered at both campuses thanks to investment from the Department for Education (DfE). T Levels are two-year courses which have been developed in collaboration with employers and providers to meet the needs of their industry and to prepare students for work. When taking a T Level qualification you will have the opportunity to see what a career is like in your chosen industry and gain experience that will look good on your CV or UCAS application and put you ahead of your peers.

T Levels also also carry UCAS points, meaning that if you finish your qualification with a grade Distinction*, it is worth the same as 3 A levels at A*.

• What are T Levels

  T Levels are a new qualification available to school leavers at Sparsholt Campus from 2023. The qualification is equivalent to 3 A Levels and offers students a balance of classroom theory, practical learning and an industry placement, to ensure that students gain hands-on experience. When taking a T Level qualification, you will spend 80% of your time in the classroom and the other 20% in an industry placement.

When taking a T Level qualification you will have the opportunity to see what a career is like in your chosen industry and gain experience that will look good on your CV or UCAS application and put you ahead of your peers.

• What is involved

  T Level courses will include the following elements:

  • 80% – Classroom Theory, completing a technical qualification which will cover the core theory and knowledge about the industry.
  • 20% – Industry Placement with an employer.
  • If you have not already achieved a grade 4, you will be able to study GCSE English and/or Maths alongside your qualification.

• Progression Opportunities

  Successful competition of a T Level qualification will prepare a learner to enter the industry through employment or as an apprentice. It also gives learners the opportunity to progress to higher education courses and training.
