What will I learn?
This course is for those who want to begin to learn how to groom their own pet dogs, or are considering a change of career and want a taster session. For this fully practical course, you will need to bring your own dog and you will learn about choice and use of equipment, when to and when not to groom. Activities will include, brushing out, bathing, drying, nail clipping and ear cleaning.
Your dog cannot attend if they are aggressive, in season, pregnant, has parasites and does need to be able to stand for a prolonged period of time. This is for the safety of you, the dog, other people and their dogs.
All courses run on a Saturday.
Entry Requirements
Your dog will need to have sufficient hair growth for you groom and ideally would have been groomed before, please check with your current groomer what they do so that we can begin to teach you how to achieve this. If the dog has not been to a groomers before this may impact on what you can do as all dogs behave differently in a groomers and what you will be able to do in the form of grooming your dog will depend on what coat type your dog is and it’s behaviour.
As you will be bringing your own dog, please ensure you have an up-to-date vaccination card; please bring this with you on the day.
