Entry Requirements
Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above which must include English, Maths and Science OR a relevant Level 2 qualification and English and Maths GCSE at grade 4 or above.
What will I learn?
You’ll develop knowledge of and skills in:
- Types of land-based equipment and machinery, their operating principles, systems and components
- Conducting maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment
- Skills in carrying out diagnostic activities
- Use of tools, equipment and materials and their application in land-based engineering
- Skills in the handover of land-based machinery and equipment
- Welding and fabrication skills
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed via a range of methods including external and internal assessment as well as an employer led project as part of your extended industry work placement.
Where will it lead me?
Studying the specialist pathway route in Agriculture, Land Management and Production will open several opportunities within the land-based sector and university destinations. You’ll utilise our impressive industry links and expert careers support alongside your course.
Enrichment
Study+ at Sparsholt College allows you to engage in a range of activities that will enrich your student experience whilst studying at the college. The activities range from Digital Wellbeing and Literacy to our Beekeeping Society, British Sign Language, Wall Climbing and even additional Maths+ and English+ sessions to help you with your entire study program. All students will also be provided with the opportunity of joining the Student Government or Student Council which meets to discuss matters close to student’s hearts and make an active change on campus to matters such as sustainability and student experience.
Facilities
Sparsholt College has a wide range of state-of-the-art facilities including a number of Agricultural Engineering workshops, a variety of new tractors and machinery, and new facilities like a DeLaval Robotic Milking Parlour, DeLaval conventional parlour and Agritech Centre built specifically for the T Level in Agriculture. Students can also learn key tractor machinery driving skills on our 4 full spec machinery simulators including combine, tractor and telehandler options.
