Move to Online Learning Tuesday 23rd-Thursday 25th June
Due to the red weather warning declared by the Met Office for Andover and Winchester this week, the College has reluctantly taken the decision to move learning online for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
This has not been an easy decision. However, with exceptional heat and humidity forecast, and with significant impacts to the general population highly likely, we cannot be certain that we would be able to keep all students and staff safe on site during this period. The safety and wellbeing of our college community must remain our first priority, and we believe that moving temporarily to online learning is the only responsible course of action in the circumstances.
Teaching staff will provide students with the information they need to access their learning remotely, including details of any online sessions, independent study tasks and work to be completed. Students should check their College email and Teams regularly and engage with the learning set for them each day.
Students who have a scheduled assessment tomorrow (Tuesday 23rd June) should attend College as normal for that assessment. Smaller buses have been arranged to support these students with their travel arrangements.
We appreciate that this change may cause some disruption, particularly for students and families who had planned around on-site attendance this week. Please be assured that the decision has been taken only after careful consideration of the latest weather information and the potential impact on students, staff and the wider College community.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we take the necessary steps to protect the safety and wellbeing of our students and staff.
