Charlie Buckland – Level 3 Horticulture
Sparsholt has a reputation of delivering the best courses with excellent facilities. The fact that it offered so many secondary qualifications, incredible trips and a chance to compete at the RHS Chelsea Flower show was a huge bonus.
The RHS Chelsea Flower show is an experience I’ll remember for ever, from the excitement of planning, the stress of getting the garden together to the build and pride of show week. The trips we went on were awesome – I was able to visit some amazing gardens and nurseries and meet knowledgeable people from within the industry.
I am now hoping to set up as a self-employed gardener, using an organic approach to help people create the space they want in their gardens. The business module in the first year gave me the knowledge of how to set up a business, including all of the paperwork, legal requirements and record keeping and the organics module taught me that you can adopt an organic approach no matter what size of garden you have and that it benefits the environment.
Even though I have graduated I still feel part of the college, this is testament to Sparsholt! Thank you for an incredible two years.
