Our Level 3 Agriculture students have taken part in a 24-hour Ploughathon to raise money for the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
Thanks goes to a local farmer who kindly allowed the group to use his fields in support of their efforts, with the action taking place non-stop between 12pm on Tuesday and 12pm on Wednesday.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was chosen as the beneficiary of the fundraising because they have saved numerous farmers, including people who are close to members of the group.
Our students are proud to be raising money for a charity that saves lives everyday and request that you please support the effort they have made in the Ploughathon by donating through their JustGiving page.
The Air Ambulance helicopter is called out many times a day to attend to road traffic collisions, sporting accidents, collapses and other incidents; these missions are often live saving and it costs £4,000 a day to keep the helicopter operational. It is funded solely by the public, with no government or Lotto funding.
At the time of writing, the Ploughathon has raised £705 towards a target of £1,000. If you would like to donate, please visit https://www.justgiving.com/Ploughathon-2015 – thank you.
