Read the TES article on how we have developed an international reputation in zoo studies and training and the development of Zoo Keepers around the world. Our unique DMZAA (Diploma in the Management of Zoo and Aquarium Animals) has garnered the interest of some of the world’s leading zoos with prestigious Leningrad Zoo in Russia the latest to sign up to the programme which is also training keepers (and some zoo directors) in zoos in the Middle East, the Baltic States and all the UK’s major zoos and collections.
World-renowned Zoological specialist Andy Beer is the Course Director for the DMZAA. Andy is also the Nutritionist for the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, responsible for the nutritional needs of Edinburgh Zoo’s pandas and sits on numerous other influential groups in the zoo world. A recognised specialist in panda nutrition Andy is currently developing a bespoke keeper training course for China with Guangzhou Zoo (one of the three largest urban zoos in China) near Hong Kong the first in this region to sign up to the programme.
