Sparsholt College, Brooklands College, Basingstoke College of Technology, Farnborough College of Technology and Guildford College have been jointly selected to deliver three European Social Fund contracts for the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Enterprise M3. The contracts will provide £1,750,000 of training to support the needs of local employers, their employees and those who have been made redundant living within the LEP Local area, situated along the M3 corridor – from South and West Surrey through much of Hampshire to New Forest.

The five colleges will work in partnership to provide technical and professional skills like IT, leadership and management training, as well as run vocationally-relevant courses targeting specific areas of skills needs identified by local businesses to facilitate opportunity for growth. The overall focus is to help support Small and Medium Sized businesses in growth and priority sectors identified by the LEP including ICT and digital media, pharmaceuticals, aerospace & defence, animal care and professional business services, to name a few, helping to boost the wider, regional economy.

Eligible businesses, their employees and individuals who have recently experienced redundancy can benefit from free training, tailored to their specific needs. Flexible training is available and participants can select nationally recognised qualifications or a tailored programme directly relevant to the workplace. Previous programme participants have benefited from increased employee confidence, motivation and productivity and improved employee loyalty and retention.

Businesses can contact the ESF team on 0845 850 0916 or business@sparsholt.ac.uk for more details and to find out if they are eligible for funded training through the three programmes:
