Principal Designate, Julie Milburn was delighted to speak to the ITV Meridian News team this week all about the fantastic hard work our staff are doing to ensure that the welfare of our animals remains at an excellent standard during lock down. This includes many members of the College team helping out, such as Residential Wardens, the grounds and premises teams, local volunteers and the Senior Leadership Team.

The team are in charge of over 1200 animals from 200 different species in the College’s Animal Management Centre, from Red Panda, Black Lemurs and a dwarf crocodile to livestock including a prize-winning herd of Holstein cattle on its 126-hectare working farm, 66 horses at its Equine Centre plus carp, catfish and exotic fish at its Aquatic Research and Conservation Centre to be looked after.

The particular story can be viewed again below at around 18 minutes 50 seconds to 22 minutes

[Please note – social distancing measures were in place for all members of staff and film crew throughout filming]
