Sparsholt College’s committed Careers Team is delighted to announce additional careers support for the College’s Class of 2020!
With the assistance of the Southern Universities Network (SUN), Sparsholt is able to provide a range of different supportive services for 2020 leavers who feel uncertain about their next steps after changes to their final exams and results. This comes after an extraordinary few months for students, who finished their year’s studies learning remotely using the college’s online learning platform.
The extended support means students will be able to seek advice from the Careers Team through 1:1 appointments (socially distanced) in person on the College campus on August 25 and September 1. A dedicated Careers hotline and online appointments have also been set up for those who cannot come onto campus and is free to use for other local students in the area.
The Careers Team will also be hosting a range of webinars for college leavers to provide support and guidance on taking the next step of their education or beginning their career.
Sparsholt leavers will be able to join ‘A Writing a Winning Job Application’ and ‘Thinking about University? How to apply through UCAS’, and there will also be a limited number of spaces for local students to join the webinar ‘Apprenticeships: What are they and how can you find one’. These webinars can be booked by emailing email@example.com.
Head of Careers, Carol Allen, provided ongoing online support to students throughout Lockdown this year. She says “We want our leavers and their parents or carers to know that we haven’t abandoned them. They may want to go to university, find an apprenticeship, move into employment, or they may be completely unsure of their next step. Our door is still open, and we are still here to help.”
These added services will be in place until the end of September, and the Careers Team will continue to run their normal services for both leavers and current Sparsholt students after this.
Earlier this year, Sparsholt College officially opened its new Careers Hub. The Careers Hub is a new space containing comprehensive careers support and information, and is where Head of Careers, Carol Allen, and the Careers team are based.
Further information and joining instructions for the webinars can be found on the Careers section of the website here. Get in touch to book a 1:1 appointment or with any other questions on firstname.lastname@example.org.
