Sparsholt College has officially launched its new Careers Hub which is based in the college and university centre Library. The Careers Hub is a new space containing comprehensive careers support and information. The Careers Hub will also be a place where Sparsholt’s Head of Careers, Carol Allen and team will be available for walk in or booked appointments.
The Careers Hub has been set up to provide an open access service and ‘one-stop-shop’ to the students of the college to make sure that they know their next steps and are prepared for them once they leave the college, whether this be the world of work or the next stage of education. It will be a resource area to help students gain more knowledge about careers, apprenticeships and higher education and all they need to get them to where they want to be.
Tim Jackson, Principal, officially opened the Careers Hub. Tim said: “An important part of our job at Sparsholt College and University Centre Sparsholt is to prepare our students for the next stage of their future, whether this be directly into an interesting and rewarding career or initially through our University Centre or other University before their career start. This facility will be a great place for students to access exceptional support to help them tailor the right approach for their future ambitions.”
The Careers hub will be managed by Sparsholt College’s Head of Careers, Carol Allen. Carol said: This is an exciting project for the college and I am grateful to be in charge of such a great new initiative. There has been impeccable support from every single person in the college, from lecturers, to governors and senior management. I feel privileged to work in a college where careers is recognised and valued so highly. Every day I get to help students see the routes available in their future and I love seeing them get to where they want to be whilst reaching various goals and ambitions.”
