Following World Mental Health Day, earlier this month we hosted an event for all of our students which included a performance from The Hara band followed by a talk all about Mental Health.

The HARA, formed in July 2017, is a lively energetic theatrical Alternative Pop Rock band. BBC Introducing have tipped them as the next big UK band. ‘Made To Be’ from their debut EP achieved #2 in the official iTunes Alternative Single Charts.

Throughout the afternoon, the band performed two sets, showcasing their new EP, Tramp brain as well as other songs from their album ‘Made To Be’. The band entertained students whilst passing on a very important message about mental health and online safety.

Emma Kennesion, Residential Support Manager, said “we’re really pleased to have had The Hara with us today. We brought them into support us to send out a positive message around mental health and I feel they achieved that message of our learners being open and confident to talk about their feelings in a relatable way. They are clearly a talented band and we wish them every success.”

Zack Breen, Lead Guitarist for The Hara, said “We get to use our platform to promote what’s relevant and important to the youth today. It’s a great way to get people talking about mental health and the issues going on in today’s generation. We get to do something we love day in, day out and it is great to see how our passions helps other people.”

The Hara’s new EP is out now on all major streaming platforms. They are also on all social media channels under ‘TheHaraBand’.

We make sure that our student get a variety of experiences at Sparsholt College. You can find out more about the opportunities you will receive whilst at Sparsholt at our next Open Event, on the 16 November 10am – 2pm.
