Blood Glucose Training

What will I learn?

After this course learners will

* Understand what diabetes is
* be able to describe the differences between type 1 and type 2 diabetes and how these are managed
* know how to recognise emergencies
* Understand the complications associated with diabetes 
* understand blood glucose monitoring
* safe administration of insulin

Training can be delivered either in our state of the art training ward at Andover College or at the client’s premises. The course content can be amended to take account of the client’s specific training needs.

Due to funding restrictions this course is not available to existing full time Sparsholt College/Andover College students aged 16, 17 or 18 (or 19-24 with an EHCP) on the 31/8 in the year they started/start their course.
