What will I learn?
This course is for those who are keen to learn how to groom their own pet dogs at home or are considering a change of career and would benefit from a taster session.
For this fully practical course, you will bring your own dog and learn about choice and use of equipment, and the grooming skills relevant to your styling preferences and dogs coat.
Students will be taken through the entire grooming process which includes bathing, drying, brushing out, prep work, clipping (when suitable), styling of legs, tail and feet, along with a basic face maintenance tidy.
This is a one-day course. All courses run on a Saturday, 9:30am-3pm and you will have a short break for lunch.
Entry Requirements
Your dog will need to have sufficient hair growth and ideally would have been groomed before. Please ask your current groomer prior to the course whether there are any behavioural or styling notes to consider.
If your dog has not previously been professionally groomed this may impact your progress as dogs can behave differently in a grooming/new environment. Grooming skills and the end result will depend on your dog’s coat and behaviour.
As you will be bringing your own dog, please ensure you have an up-to-date vaccination card and please bring this with you on the day.
Please note we do not accept dogs in season in the salon – please consider this when booking course dates as refunds will not be issued outside of the standard terms and conditions.
Please Note
All fees are correct at the current time and may be subject to change.
