What will I learn?

This course is based around our standard course content:

* Identifying the constituents of an assertive style and differentiating between this and aggression
* The different legislation that is relevant to assertiveness
* The effects of non-assertive, assertive and aggressive behaviour
* Using verbal and non-verbal skills to enhance assertive behaviour
* Identifying situations where assertive behaviour is appropriate and choosing whether or not to use it

However, our 1-1 courses are completely bespoke and can be built around the exact requirements of the learner. Learners will therefore be asked to tell us exactly what they would like to get from the course and the exact course content will be informed by that.

Please note that to gain maximum benefit from this course, learners need to be assured of confidentiality, except for when a safeguarding issue is identified. We will not, therefore be able to feed back to the employer. Instead, we would encourage learners to have a conversation with the employer after the course.
