What will I learn?

This Level 3, career-focused short course will help you apply your current skills to the teaching/training environment or take your existing teaching/training experience to a new level.

Over 12 weeks you will explore the roles and responsibilities of a teacher/trainer in relation to legislation, equality, diversity, inclusivity and meeting the needs of post-16/adult learners, using appropriate resources and teaching methods. You will complete a series of written assessments and take part in micro-teaching observations, all designed to develop your knowledge and practical understanding of planning and delivering sessions, and assessing learning.

  • Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
  • Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training
  • Understanding assessment in education and training

    Entry Requirements

    You will need to be qualified or experienced in the subject you deliver, with language, literacy and ICT skills at a minimum of Level 2.

    Admission onto the course of study is by interview and initial assessment.

Due to funding restrictions this course is not available to existing full time Sparsholt College/Andover College students aged 16, 17 or 18 (or 19-24 with an EHCP) on the 31/8 in the year they started/start their course.
