What will I learn?
Through practical teaching you will learn the basics of estate maintenance and land-based machinery. As a student on the Land and Wildlife (Game) pathway, you will also have a specific focus on the Game and Wildlife industry and you will acquire the knowledge and skills you will need to successfully manage wildlife for the benefits of both field sports and conservation. You’ll be involved in a range of practical activities both at the College and off-site at local shooting estates, where you’ll be working alongside gamekeepers and wildlife managers.
You’ll also put your skills into practice during a work placement, either with an industry-based employer , which will help you to build up valuable contacts and potentially gain employment.
Firearms will be supplied when necessary, for practical training and assessment. There is no facility to store personal firearms onsite.

What grades will I need?
Maths and English GCSEs at grade 3, plus two other GCSEs at grade 3 or Level 1 qualification plus a good school or college reference.

Additional Qualifications
You will be required to work towards Maths or English GCSE if you do not have a grade C/4 or above.
