What will I learn?

This course is for managers who need to lead and motivate others, and who want to develop their leadership skills.

The thought-provoking day will help you to become more self-aware, empathic, influential and resilient.

The day will cover:

1. Introduction to leadership

  • What is leadership?
  • Discovering your leadership vision and values
  • The importance of emotional intelligence in leadership

    2. Developing yourself as a leader

  • Know yourself: the self-aware leader.
    How to using feedback and self reflection

  • Manage yourself: the resilient leader
    How to manage your emotional state so you can inspire and encourage others

  • Understand others: the empathic leader:
    How to developing your listening skills, and organisational awareness

  • Motivate others: the influential leader
    How to inspire, motivate and encourage others towards a vision

  • Your next leadership steps

    Where will it lead me?

    Upon completion of this course, delegates may want to join the CMI L3 Diploma or Certificate courses in Principles of Management and Leadership or Coaching & Mentoring

    Applicants must be 19+ on 31/8 in the academic year of the course start date in order to apply/enrol on the course.

    Due to funding restrictions this course is not available to existing full time Sparsholt College/Andover College students aged 16, 17 or 18 (or 19-24 with an EHCP) on the 31/8 in the year they started/start their course.
