What will I learn?

Having completed our Introduction to Welding course at Sparsholt, you might want to consider our City & Guilds Level 2 MMA Welding course to take your skills further and gain a formal qualification.

Suitable for both hobbyists and those who undertake welding in their jobs, this course will cover

  • Producing a butt weld in the flat position and vertical positions
  • Producing a lap fillet in the vertical position
  • Producing a tee fillet weld in the vertical position
  • Producing a tube-to-plate tee fillet weld in the horizontal/vertical position
  • Factors that influence weld quality and Health and Safety requirements relevant to welding

    Learners will need to bring safety boots, fire retardant overalls and a pair of welding gauntlets to the course

    Where will it lead me?

    This is an industry standard qualification, completion of which will allow learners to apply for welding jobs

    Entry Requirements

    Learners should either have completed the Introduction to Welding course at Sparsholt College or have some experience of MMA welding.

    Learners may also be invited to a test weld and interview

    Please Note

Due to funding restrictions this course is not available to existing full time Sparsholt College/Andover College students aged 16, 17 or 18 (or 19-24 with an EHCP) on the 31/8 in the year they started/start their course.
