What will I learn?

In this short course we will take you through the safety basics & dangers of Plasma cutting, the equipment set-up and dismantle procedures, theoretical safe working practices and practical demonstrations.
Learning outcomes;
1. Understand the safety dangers of Plasma cutting equipment and practices, and understand the dangers of High Frequency pilot arc starting.
2. Be able to identify issues in line with current legislation.
3. Be able to understand and identify key items of plant.
4. Be able to set up those items of plant.
5. Be able to use the manual Plasma cutting equipment safely and correctly.

Learners may also be interested in our Introduction to Welding or City & Guilds Level 2 Welding courses.

Applicants must be 19+ on 31/8 in the academic year of the course start date in order to apply/enrol on the course.

Due to funding restrictions this course is not available to:

· Existing full time Sparsholt College/Andover College students aged 16, 17 or 18 (or 19-24 with an EHCP) on the 31/8 in the year they started/start their course
· Learners aged 19-24 with an EHCP
