What will I learn?

This course will introduce students to the different types of welding techniques used within the industry. Students will have the opportunity to develop their knowledge and learn the basics of welding

The course covers:

  • MMA Welding (Manual Metal Arc)
  • MIG Welding (Metal Inert Gas)
  • TIG Welding (Tungsten Inert Gas)
  • Gas Welding (Oxy-Acetylene)
  • Gas Cutting

    Where will it lead me?

    Delegates who complete this course may progress on to the City & Guilds Level 2 Award in MIG Welding held at Sparsholt College

    Entry Requirements

    From beginners to the more experienced, this course is ideal for anyone looking to prepare for the City & Guilds level 2 welding course

    Learners will be required to bring the following to the course

    * safety boots
    * fire retardant overalls
    * welding gauntlets

    If learners have their own welding visor, they are very welcome to use them but this can be supplied for anyone who does not have this equipment.

    If you wish to join this course, please ensure that you can attend all the training sessions as it is not possible to offer alternative dates to make up for missed days. A full list of dates for the course can be obtained by emailing business@sparsholt.ac.uk

Due to funding restrictions this course is not available to existing full time Sparsholt College/Andover College students aged 16, 17 or 18 (or 19-24 with an EHCP) on the 31/8 in the year they started/start their course.
