Level 3 Equine
Future Plans: Hopefully I’m going to go on to university to further my knowledge
“I’ve been here for three years and I’m studying Level 3 Equine studies. I started off at Level 2 which is a year’s course. I learnt a lot – I came here knowing barely anything about horses and that gave me the foundations. I then extended on that with the Level 3 Extended Diploma and I’m on my last year now. I’ve learnt so much and it’s given me a lot of confidence about working with horses and I feel comfortable around them.
We’ve just got a new facility – the Sir Mark Todd Rider Performance Studio. Charisma is a Racewood Eventing Simulator. I was lucky to be part of the launch, which was amazing. I got to meet Sir Mark Todd himself. Charisma is going to help us with research going forward and helping riders starting off aswell which will be amazing.
I live on campus, which is great. You get the freedom of a taste of being an adult without the massive responsibilities. It’s a great freedom and you get to meet new friends. The wardens are great, they’re always there to lend a helping hand. There’s always something to do around the campus or trips to Winchester which isn’t far.
I would definitely recommend Sparsholt. I’ve been here for three years and I’ve loved every minute of it. There’s always something new to learn and I think Sparsholt gets the balance of the practical and theory side of the lessons so well. The staff are amazing and I feel like they always go the extra mile to help you do better. Hopefully I’m going to go to university and further my knowledge and experience. Hopefully one day you’ll see me on TV riding around Badminton!”
