FdSc Veterinary Nursing Science graduate
When I starting looking at universities I found Sparsholt had the best veterinary nursing facilities compared to the others I visited. The Animal Management Centre had a wide variety of species for practicals and there were also amazing library resources and a dedicated Veterinary Nursing Centre. I also like the fact there is lots of green outdoor space on and around campus.
I met some great new friends for life here and enjoyed the mix of study time and practical experience throughout the course. Sparsholt has a nice working environment and great teachers. We learnt so many new skills and of course achieved the end goal of qualifying after a lot of hard work. I did all my training with a primary care vet but am now working as a Registered Veterinary Nurse at a renowned referrals practice in Guildford.
Over 80 people work here and we are one of the most advanced and innovative diagnostic and rehabilitation facilities for small animal neuro-orthopaedics in the UK. It’s a completely new way of nursing here, we work in teams and every day is different.
I’ve been involved in so much new technology and innovative work with prosthetics and have added a lot of new skills to my existing ones.
My tutor was really supportive and encouraged me to apply for demanding roles straight after graduating. Studying at Sparsholt gave me the confidence to land an amazing job and achieve the qualification I’ve always wanted.
