Level 3 Countryside Mangement

Future Plans: I hope to go into environmental science and renewable energy

“I chose this course because it covers a large range of topics ranging from Environmental Science to Woodland Management. I have enjoyed meeting a range of people with experience from all sorts of backgrounds. They have given me a huge amount of insight into what I could do in the future.

The theory we learn in the classroom is put into practice working on fencing, chainsaws, river restoration and so much more. You’re able to attain your NTPC licenses for machinery which is useful because then you’re qualified to use equipment in future jobs. The skills I have learnt have set me up for my future by giving me a great sense of the environments that one day I could be working in. My favourite piece of equipment has to be the chainsaws: learning how to use them safely and processing trees and timber.

The tutors have such a wide range of knowledge and are so enthusiastic! It makes learning the subjects so much easier. They have pushed me to be my best self and this has led me to achieving Distinction* which I could not have done without them.

You’re always treated like an adult at Sparsholt which makes living on-site very fun and social.

In the future, I hope to go into environmental science and renewable energy. Sparsholt has given me a brilliant foundation of understanding and has set me on the right course to achieve my goals.”
