Kerry Hill – Level 3 Animal Management graduate
I’d always wanted to work with animals, but had no idea how or where. I needed both a comprehensive theoretical course and competitive practical skills so that I could begin working in the industry as soon as possible. Sparsholt delivered on both criteria.
I remember touring the Animal Management Centre and being overawed at the prospect of working with so many beautiful and interesting species. Having the opportunity to implement training programmes, become more practised in operant conditioning, and do really special and memorable things like acclimatise the white-cheeked turacos to humans in their enclosure, was exceptional for me.
I’m starting at The University of Lincoln this September, where I’ll be studying Behaviour and Welfare. What I learned at Sparsholt and the College itself are so specialised that I know I’ll be going forwards with an advantage in animal science.
